About Thibaud Tchertchian

Thibaud Tchertchian (b. 1983, Suresnes, France) is a French contemporary artist. He grew up in Paris and Nanterre, studied fine arts, and began painting with spray cans in the early 2000s. His practice blends street art, portraiture, and mixed media on canvas.

After living in Bangkok (2013–2020), where he held solo exhibitions at Rock Around Asia, Soy Sauce Factory, S Gallery, and Galerie Goja, he returned to Europe. He exhibited "Icône" at Église Saint-Séverin during Nuit Blanche 2022 in Paris, completed a public commission for the Théâtre de Suresnes (2025), and is now based in Alicante, Spain.

His work spans 14 series from 2010 to the present, exploring themes of identity, censorship, technology, cultural preservation, and the human condition. Media include black spray on canvas, oil painting, mixed media, and spray on paper.

Tchertchian is also a writer and musician under the alias Modi Fatsk. His novels include Blackbook (2020), a fiction rooted in the graffiti world, and Love Republic (2022), set in Thailand. As Modi Fatsk, he has released several albums available on Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp.

He is the recipient of the Microsoft Prize for Start Up (2023–2026, up to Level 3) and the ElevenLabs Prize for Start Up (2023), as well as the SNCF Public Painting Prize (2014, Nanterre). Founder and President of Lazy Factory PTE LTD (2022–2027) and of Association Artystreet (est. 2004). Affiliated with Maison des Artistes since 2007.
